We have joined forces with Childvision and have decided to auction the very first limited edition Arkle sculpture, AKA “No. 1″ to raise funds for this extremely worthy cause. Emma MacDermott, the sculptress of our full sized statue, has produced 27 of these small scale sculptures, in honour of Arkle’s 27 track victories
“No. 1″ is stunning. It’s not a dinky bedside table ornament, it is an immensely impressive bronze sculpture measuring approximately 28 inches in height and in length and is as breathtaking as the full size statue. No detail is overlooked and, like the large statue, it appears as if Arkle and Pat are just about to step away.
Childvision is an education centre for blind children and Equine Therapy is a key part of the Childvision programme. All children, aged from 1 to 21, interact with horses in one way or another. This was a concept shared by Arkle’s owner, Anne Duchess of Westminster, who was a great supporter of Clwyd Riding School for the Disabled and the trustees of the Duchess’s charitable fund have given their full support.
The funds raised through this auction will go towards providing the children of ChildVision with an indoor riding arena and more facilities and resources so that their equine therapy can continue as strongly as it has been.
